"Sankofa" is a Ghanaian word that means "it is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten." The term is a combination of the words: san (return), ko (go), fa (seek and take). "Sankofa" teaches us to go back to our roots to move forward.
Custom Kente Stoles
What sets our stoles apart is the hand-embroidered craftsmanship. Even the letters are meticulously hand-woven into the threads as the fabric is created, adding a personal touch to the design.
We were so impressed with the quality, packaging, and presentation of the Kente. We ordered Kente for the Black Caucus of the National Communication Association PhD. graduates. Sankofa Edition was fast, courteous, and efficient. it was a wonderful experience.
We really enjoyed working with this wonderful company. The stoles were stunning on our students! Shipping was on time and customer service, superb! We hope to continue using Sankofa Edition!
These authentic kente stoles were top quality, beautifully packaged, and received a day earlier than expected. We were also very impressed with the gifts, and the overall presentation. We bought 50 this first time, and will definitely buy more. Next time, we will customize with our logo.
I was impressed with how quickly I received the order and , in fact, it arrived when they said it would! The quality met my expectations. We'll be awarding them to our scholarship recipients. I can hardly wait!!! Thank you.

We order graduation stoles from Sankofa Edition every year, as a gift to our African American Student Association seniors during our Donning of the Kente Ceremony. Beautifully crafted authentic material (with certificate of authenticity included!), a variety of options to choose from, and fast no fuss shipping.
High quality product, no mass-produced item here! And it arrived very quickly. We host a Donning of the Kente Ceremony for our students and Sankofa is my go to for stoles every year (and now twice a year)!
Our organization has ordered the graduation stoles for the past 4 years. We get them customized. The embroiders said the quality is the best they've ever seen
Our theater is using your product in it's production of choir boys. They are gorgeous and arrived quickly. In fact, I'm ordering two more for the understudies today. Thank you for your product and your excellent customer service.
I purchased graduation stoles for our high school seniors in the Black Student Union. They absolutely love them! They are of high quality and look great.
Purchased the stoles for children in a rites of passage ceremony. They were just perfect. The quality, length, and the kente cloth was very representative of the heritage that we wanted to have on full display.
These were well made. They were for the BSU at Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. They were well received by our graduating seniors.
My BSU students and I are quite pleased with our order of 2022 Handwoven Kente Cloth Graduation Stoles. The customer service is top-notch and the staff is easy to get in touch with especially being able to send a text. The order arrived quickly and even though we are a small school, I never felt that our order didn't matter--we have been treated well. The quality of the stoles is excellent. The beautiful pen enclosed was such a nice bonus! I wish your business much success!
The Association of Pan African Doctoral Scholars (APADS) will be pleased to honor our Doctoral graduates in June with these lovely Kente Stoles, woven in Ghana. We are happy to have them.
MSU Texas has been using Sankofa Edition's stoles since 2019, and each time our students fall in love with the kente stoles. We are continuously using their services to celebrate the accomplishments of our students each semester and each stole allows the students to feel acknowledged and empowered. With the stoles, their significance, and the start of celebrating our students, we have grown from 13 graduates taking part in our ceremony with having 36 for this spring 2022 (the biggest since the beginning). The images are from 2019 and the fall 2021 class.
