END OF SASON SALE! This Kente Cloth is called Sika Futuro which translates to "Gold Dust". It was created for a King who wanted to be clothed in gold. Because it would be impractical to wear gold, the weaver who created this design weaved gold threads into the pattern. This kente cloth, which can take a Master Weaver up to 4 hours to weave by hand, is rich in meaning and symbolism - carrying a pattern and design that has been passed on for hundreds of years.

Be sure that you are wearing genuine Handwoven Kente Cloth by buying directly from us. This Sankofa Edition™ Brand Kente Stole is made in Ghana and provides income to hundreds of skilled workers. Each package includes a Certificate of Authenticity and Sankofa Edition™ logo medallion sticker.

Superb!

I wanted to wear an authentic Kente stole for my graduate commencement ceremony and the quality of the stole I received surpassed my expectations. The material is high quality, beautiful, and feels very durable.

Thank you for choosing our stole to wear on your special day Karen! We appreciate your support. Congratulations!

Can you tell me the Akan names for the patterns in my scarf? I recognize Kyemfere ("the potsherd and the potter") but I am not certain about the others. Thanks very much for the information!

Thank you for your review, Linda! We sent you an email with more information. You can also find this information here on the product page.

While seasarching around for Kinte cloth to wear on my doctoral robe next year for graduation, I was actually looking for something a bit non-traditional Kinte. I attended Rice High School in NYC a long time ago and our beloved alma mater was closed in 2011 due to budget cuts and so forth. The school was in existence from 1938 to 2011. It was a private Catholic institute for young men and had gained a dual reputation as an elite college prep school as well as a basketball powerhouse. (Just a little background)

Those of us who are still alive and active have pledged to support our brothers, living and gone from us by taking every opportunity to rock the "Green and Gold", our school colors, so when I saw that sash, it was absolutely perfect, with socks to match! When I walk across the stage next year to formally be acknowledged for my doctorate, I will carry my brothers with me.

Thank you, Sakofa Edition. Thank you.

God bless you all,

Marv Reid, EdD

Thank you for the beautiful review, Marvin! We're happy to be part of such a meaningful celebration. Thank you for trusting us with your purchase!
